With leading edge technology becoming commonplace in the provision of telecommunication services it is now not only possible but makes commercial sense to locate "back outfaces" offshore to take advantage of labour cost and time differences. Various countries with similar factor endowments as Fiji are already well established in the business of exporting information services. A few examples are Trinidad, Jamaica and Barbados. Fiji is ideally situated as a location for establishment of information exporting enterprises since its location gives it favourable time difference with key business centres around the world
